For many years Risen Christ Risen Lutheran School hosted an early Spring outdoor celebration for families, called SonFest. This family friendly event drew many Risen Christ families and community friends. In 2007 ambitious parents working with the school’s administration sought a larger venue that would benefit the community and provide a similar family friendly event for the community as a whole. In 2008 Taste of the Coast of Barefoot Landing was born!
The first year of Taste of the Coast 2,500 participants came with approximately 15 restaurants represented. In 2011 well over 20 restaurants and well over 5,000 participants enjoyed a memorable day at Taste of the Coast at Barefoot Landing. At Taste of the Coast one can find live local entertainment, a cross section of the Grand Strands finest cuisine, child activities include games, large inflatables, pony rides, face painting, and much.
Admission is $1 or a canned good which will be donated to Grand Strand Helping Hands.
